Premiere in Europe: a flat track cup for Harley-Davidson and Buell only.

Finally “Harley-Davidson Racing” returns to Europe! In true “Remember Pearl Harbor” spirit, brave riders thunder their big American twins round large dirt ovals. Flat track, also known as dirt track, is one of the oldest and most traditional forms of motorcycle racing. The aim in this American sport is simply to complete a predetermined number of laps around an oval as quickly as possible, without a front brake!

Flat track is the sport where big names like Kenny Robberts, Eddy Lawson, Nicky Hayden and former moto-GP champion Casey Stoner have learned the art of drifting. Up to 20 riders start from 3 rows and race for 6 to 20 laps. The goal is to lose as little speed as possible through the turns. Because the bikes only have rear brakes, the riders control their speed by putting the motorcycle sideways. This drift is controlled by the throttle and ensures the highest possible exit speed on to the straight. Fairings are prohibited and tire profile is restricted to 6mm. This pure and simple formula has proven itself over time and delivers close and exciting racing!

Riders from Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands have already registered for the All American Twins Cup 2010 and are anxiously awaiting the first round of this new series.

Five rounds are planned in the 2010 season, and these will mostly be combined with the International Mefo Sport Flattrack Cup. Like every year there will be plenty of joint training sessions. W&W Cycles and Dream Machines, amongst others, will be providing the prize purse for the cup, the top three riders will be splitting 2600€ worth of gift vouchers.
